Change of plan
A foggy morning meant I would not be taking sunrise photos as planned one morning last week. I was disappointed at first but quickly decided to take fog photos. I did not have to leave the house quite as early to catch the sun but I still had to be out the door fairly early because weather reports said the fog would lift around mid morning.
I went to familiar places and did not over think where the “best” photos may be captured. I planed to start at the York River and then head north to York Harbor, York Harbor Beach, Long Sands, Nubble Light, Short Sands, Cape Neddick Beach and then Perkins Cove.

The fog was still thick until I got to Long Sands when the sky started to brighten. The disk of the sun started showing through the clouds at the light house and blue patches of sky started to appear at Short Sands Beach. The sun was lighting up parts of the shore line at Cape Neddick Beach and by the time I got to Perkins Cove the sun was out and the fog was out to sea.

As I wrapped up the photo shoot that morning I was glad I had not let the weather stop me from captureing a few good images as the day began.
